Marcia and Eric, who are community members of the Mount of Oaks will be sharing a workshop on natural soap making. They make beautiful soaps using local and natural products. Come along and learn how to make your own at home!
This workshop will be facilitated in English and Portuguese.

Description of workshop
In this practical workshop you will learn how to make your own natural soap through a cold-process. No need to have experience, this class is for beginners. There will be a theorical introduction and then a practical part. We’ll show you how to use simple equipment and what kind of ingredients you’ll need. The main oil we’ll use is olive oil, a wonderful local resource.
After this class, you’ll be able to make soap for yourself, choosing your favorite ingredients or to give it as a beautiful handmade present.
Price 30€ including all materials and the soap you’ll take home come with a friend and pay 25€ each.
Min 4 and max 8 participants, so everyone has a good experience.
Eric Conrath and Marcia Luz are both residents of the Mount of Oaks community – a 10 year old community based on Permaculture principles in rural Portugal.
They are making their own body care products for the last 5 years. Eric’s background is in pharmaceutical engineering and some of his interests are herbal medicine, natural cosmetics and DIY lifestyle.
Marcia has worked in the marketing area for several years, the last years have been a journey back to the land and simplicity. Learning and playing with natural cosmetics has been part of that journey. Her interests include natural medicine, massage, nutrition and yoga.
They make soaps for personal use and to offer and sell to friends and guests of Mount of Oaks.
